Post Trip 2008: Macau & Hong Kong

Back from Macau & Hong Kong. What I missed most? The food!!!

Breakfast portion
1. Breakfast at Australia Dairy Company
2. Breakfast at Kam Wah Cafe
3. Breakfast at Hoi Keng Congee Specialist/Seaview Porridge Shop

Dinner portion
1. Dinner at Lok Yuen
2. Dinner at Yu Yi Pin (裕一品) – The Ma lat noodle i missed the most.

Of course we could not miss the dessert
1. Dessert at Tai He Tang (泰和堂)
2. A cup a day from Hui Lau Shan

Experience the whole trip: I love their subway, it is very accurate just like Korea and Taiwan. There are lots of people in Hong Kong. The feel I get is that their lives are very busy and rush. Even crossing the street you feel they are stressed and have to get across as quick as possible. Remembering the moment where we cross the pedestrian crossing, once the light turn green everyone starts walking. Hahaha rarely you see so many people walking at the same time. Overall experience is superb. If I have chance, I will re visit again just for the food 😀

After all the places we have visited, now comes the Disneyland. I bought our tickets from our hostel cost HKD570. Its actually a little bit cheaper compare to if you buy it from Disneyland itself. Cheaper by HKD20. We went to Hoi Keng Congee Shop for breakfast (cost: HKD50). I really love their porridge. Especially the pig blood porridge my favourite.

Today we ordered along with the Zha Leong (炸两)

Its a Sunday. Today is suppose to be a shopping day for us. As for breakfast, we went to Seaview Congee Shop (海景粥店) also can be known as Hoi Keng Congee Shop which is just next block from our hostel. Very easy to find because it is on Argyle Street itself. If you are staying in Dragon Hostel, just go out from the left entrance of Sincere House, cross the road its on that block opposite it along the Argyle Street.

Hoi Keng Congee shop, based on the name you know they are famous with the porridge. Other than that they also serve very nice Zha Leong (炸两) & Yao Zha Guai (油炸鬼). The Yao Zha Guai is really very HUGE LOL compare to ours is like more than double the size. We both ordered bowl of porridge for ourselves, yao zha guai and chi cheung fun with prawns.

Sorry didn’t get the full title of the shop. Sea view Congee Shop (海景粥店) also can be known as Hoi Keng Congee Shop. I really love this shop. Their porridge is really very nice and smooth (quite huge bowl). Plus their Zha Leong (炸两) & Yao Zha Guai (油炸鬼) is really very nice. Highly recommended. The branch that I tried is at Argyle Street

Getting up a little later than usual and get ourselves ready for the day. We take a walk down to the Goldfish Market, it is somewhere near Tung Choi Street (通菜街). Walked the wrong side actually before getting to the right one :P. Walking with so tiny map is not that easy. But they have very sufficient road signs so should be no problem. Today’s weather is the best. It’s getting slightly cooler than the hot weather we have encounter for the past few days.

Does this tunnel looks familiar? Haha it looks like the one we seen on those TVB drama once in a while

Very cute all the fish
