In Jeju, one of the thing that must try is Sea Urchin Noodle (seongge-guksu) and Abalone Porridge (jeonbok-juk). I chose Dongbok-ri Haenyeo-chon as my first stop for food in Jeju. You will need to go very early or non peak hours. It usually packed with people during peak hours.

We had the whole shop to ourselves because we are the first customer for the day. We reached about 830am. Get ourselves comfortable seated at the end of the restaurant then we ordered. The lady does not speak English so I gave the keyword of what I would like to order. And here it comes ~

I present you the ~ Abalone Porridge (jeonbok-juk), 10,000 won per bowl. As usual every meal in Korea, you will received a few side dish kimchi. Every restaurants serves different kimchi but some are similar.

The abalone is chewy and just nice texture. The porridge smells very nice, but I could not describe what it smells like. The rice is cooked until the texture is very smooth and its perfect for the cold weather.

Next is the ~ Sea Urchin Noodle (seongge-guksu), 8,000 won per bowl. Sea Urchin originally is already nice. Added with the smooth noodle and the soup it just perfect!!! It is a light dish suitable for us to starts our journey for the day 😀
