Ipoh Trip – 250409

Last 2 week, during the weekend i took a trip down to Taiping with my dear. On the way there we drop by Ipoh to look for Choong Yee. First stop is her sister’s clinic the Jean Veterinary Clinic (JVC) next to Tesco after the Toll exit. Later on she bring us to the Original Ipoh Old Town White Coffee shop which located at the tallest building in Ipoh. I forgot the name of the place hahaha. Anyway if you manage to find the tallest building there then you can find this shop is just next to it.

At first I was intending to order Cham but Choong Yee says come to Ipoh White Coffee (Old Town) shop MUST try their White Coffee hahahaha. So I ordered a White Coffee instead of the Cham. Their white coffee is slightly different from the one we get it in KL or from the packet. The mixture is just perfect. Now only I know that white coffee doesn’t mean that the drink will come out white hahaha. Is the coffee powder itself already already white. Slightly white supposedly. Well not too sure about that.

My White Coffee

Along with the drinks, we ordered some food.

Chi Cheung Fun & Lobak Gou

Both items above, its texture is really soft.

Pig Skin with curry & Toast bread

According to Choong Yee, they fry the pig skin then only cook with the curry. Really very nice. When biting the pig skin, you can actually feels a little springy. Arghhh my favourite…. hope to eat again.

Menu

Tea was great. After filling our stomach, we went to Hoong Tho Restaurant to get some Baos. This shop is also one of the very old shop in Ipoh. We bought 2 kinds; one with century egg and another one is with salted egg. Unfortunately we didn’t get to eat hahaha coz left it in Taiping aih.. too bad next time ba.

After dabao, we went to the Gunung Lang to have a walk and enjoy the scenery.

Choong Yee & Bro (Johnson) & of course Me :P

Nice background :P

Beautiful scenery

Eagles. There are a few of it flying so low

So cute the duck LOL

Come to this place… you wont just enjoy the good scenery, you can also enjoy looking at the fish too. LOTS of them and all very huge. You can buy fish food or breads to feed the fish. Really exciting looking at all of them coming together surrounding the food. You can also take a ride on the boat to go out deep into the lake.

After the trip to Gunung Lang we went to Lou Wong Tauge Chicken Kuetiau Restaurant for dinner. We ordered steamed chicken, kuetiau (also known as ho fun), tauge, and meat ball soup.

Meatball soup & Ho Fun

Steamed Chicken & Tauge

The ho fun tasted very smooth and soft just like the one I use to have in Aman Suria. I love the meatballs…. Usually I don’t have the habit in eating meatballs, but I really like this one. If not mistaken the meatball consists of cuttlefish hahaha. The chicken is really alot for 4 of us hahaha. As for the tauge nicely cook. Not too cook or too raw….. just nice.

The damages

Address : 49, Jalan Yau Tet Shin, 30000 Ipoh, Perak
Contact : 605-254 4199

They are quite high tech for a restaurant haha. This receipt is printed using a small printer attach to the cashier (he is walking around btw). This shop is actually nearby this Gerbang Malam Sign hahaha. I not sure how many of this in Ipoh. But from here just go straight the shop is at the cross road :P

Otak Otak

While eating got people come and sell Otak Otak. So Choong Yee get us one to try. Inside is fish. LOL this is my first time trying. After dinner we just walk around that area then we headed back to the Old Town to get our car. On the way headed towards the toll… we encounter JAM in Ipoh LOL. Don’t know is I am ‘too’ lucky or what hahaha Choong Yee says that is first time traffic jam.

Anyway after that we headed back to Taiping. Reached terus shower later on terus sleep. Tired like hell used up all the energy. Thanks alot for the half day trip Choong Yee. We really enjoy ourselves.
